TV screens

Any smart TV with a web browser can show your food menu or a live board above the counter. You sign it in once with a code, and after that you change what it shows from your dashboard. Nobody has to touch the TV again.

What a TV can show

  • Food menu. Names, photos, and prices. A long list slides from page to page.
  • Order numbers. Preparing and Ready columns, so customers watch for their number. No names or items.

Good to know

When you have an announcement in Look, it scrolls along the bottom of the TV.

Sign in a TV

  1. 1In your business's Set up menu, open Devices. Under TVs, tap Add a TV. (Set up a TV on Publish opens the same place.)
  2. 2Give it a name, like "Window TV", and pick what it shows under On the TV, and which categories.
  3. 3Want a different look? Open Customize for the layout, how long each slide stays up, and photos, prices, and the QR code.
  4. 4Tap Create code. Once your list is published, Preview shows the screen on your own computer first.
  5. 5On the TV, open the web browser, go to serveslate.com/tv, and type the code.

Heads up

Each code works once and expires after 15 minutes. If it runs out, just add the TV again.

Tip

Until your list is published, the TV shows a waiting screen. It switches over on its own once you publish.

Change or remove a TV

In Devices, tap Edit next to the TV to change what it shows. The TV picks up the change within a minute and stays signed in. Anything you publish shows up on the TV by itself.

Remove signs the TV out right away. It needs a new code to come back.

More than one TV

Add each TV on its own. Under Categories on this TV, give each one different categories, like drinks on one TV and food on the other. Leave it on All to show the whole food menu.
